Marblehead extended their winning streak to six on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 6-0 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Danvers Falcons. That's more bragging rights for the Magicians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Danvers, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Danvers' part, Skylar Coakley spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Coakley.

On the hitting side, Danvers saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyla Moroney, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Marblehead is set to face off against their familiar foe Masconomet Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Danvers will challenge rival Peabody Veterans Memorial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
