Softball Recap: Sickles Comes Up Short

Sickles fell victim to Sunlake and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 7-0 to the Seahawks. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Gryphons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Sickles saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsie Meister, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Sickles has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Sunlake, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Sickles will head out on the road to face off against Blake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sunlake, they will challenge Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Leopards' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Seahawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
