Baseball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

Barker hit Perry with a nine-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellowjackets took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Zack Baker put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Izaiah Hernandez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Perry now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Barker, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.
