Softball Recap: Muskegon Big Reds vs. Mona Shores Sailors
Muskegon extended their losing streak to 11 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-14 in the process. They lost 18-4 to the Mona Shores Sailors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sailors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Tuesday.
Muskegon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sa'Mya Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Jada Thomas also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
As for Mona Shores, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Mona Shores' side, Jada Mosher was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Mosher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Youmans, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Coming up, Muskegon will host Reeths-Puffer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mona Shores, they will take on Shelby at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
