Watauga had won six straight home games and Kate Sears did her part to make it seven on Tuesday. The Watauga Pioneers strolled past the Northern Guilford Nighthawks with points to spare, taking the game 74-55 thanks in part to Sears, who dropped a triple-double with 32 points, 16 boards, and 11 assists. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 15 games she's played.

Julie Matheson was another key player, going 8-for-9 on her way to 18 points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in field goal percentage (89%).

Despite the loss, Northern Guilford still got an impressive performance from Leena McField, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 41.8% of Northern Guilford's points, marking the eighth time in a row McField has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Cara Trippett, who shot 40% from the field en route to 16 points.

Watauga has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. With the defeat, Northern Guilford broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-8.

Coming up, Watauga will head out to face off against Lake Norman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Norman will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something Watauga surely won't give up without a fight. Northern Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
