Recap: Washington Eagles vs. Arroyo Dons
The Washington Eagles were the 52-49 winner over the Arroyo Dons when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Washington fell to Arroyo 53-47.
Despite the loss, Washington still got an impressive performance from Korey Abantao, who scored 16 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. Abantao scored a full 34% of Washington's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Mayfield-Commer, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Arroyo, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will challenge Alhambra at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Alhambra focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. As for Arroyo, they will head out on the road to face off against Napa at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
