Baseball Recap: David Crockett Comes Up Short

David Crockett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson County Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 on March 8th.

Gabe Story was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Aj Ford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

David Crockett's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Jefferson County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

David Crockett will take on Sullivan East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jefferson County, they are taking a road trip to take on Hardin Valley Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
