It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but White Bear Lake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Woodbury Royals, sneaking past 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Lilly Martin spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

White Bear Lake's record is now 9-6. As for Woodbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
