Softball Recap: Rockford Auburn Comes Up Short

Rockford Auburn started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Hononegah. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in April.

Lily Parr was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Rockford Auburn has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season. As for Hononegah, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Rockford Auburn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against DeKalb on the 28th. As for Hononegah, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-3 win against Jefferson on the 22nd.
