Basketball Recap: North Central Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, North Central finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They were beaten by Valentine 74-30. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Valentine are ranked 100th).

Andon Olson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Valentine, going 9-for-19 on his way to 23 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Olson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Dominic Beebout was another key player, going 6-for-12 en route to 15 points and five assists.

North Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Valentine, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-10.

Coming up, North Central will square off against Stuart at 7:45 p.m. on February 21st. As for Valentine, they will take on Gordon-Rushville on February 21st. Valentine is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season.
