Basketball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Southwestern

Southwestern entered their tilt with Jac-Cen-Del on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 72-57 victory over the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles. The Rebels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Southwestern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Kidwell, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. Those 28 points gave Kidwell a new career-high. Brady Cook was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine assists.

Southwestern's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Jac-Cen-Del, they moved to 3-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Southwestern will take on Clarksville in a tournament on Friday. Southwestern is facing Clarksville at the right time seeing as Clarksville is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jac-Cen-Del, they will head out to challenge Loogootee at 12:30 p.m. on December 28th. Jac-Cen-Del knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Loogootee likes a good challenge.
