Basketball Game Preview: DePue Little Giants vs. Somonauk Bobcats

DePue hasn't had much luck against Somonauk recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The DePue Little Giants are taking a road trip to square off against the Somonauk Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

DePue is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Yorkville Christian and fell 115-48. While losing is never fun, the Little Giants can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 759th, while the Mustangs are ranked 185th).

Meanwhile, Somonauk suffered their closest defeat since December 26, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Illinois Math & Science Academy by a score of 46-44. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Somonauk's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for DePue, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-21.

DePue took a serious blow against Somonauk in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 75-45. Can DePue avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
