Meanwhile, Owen entered their tilt with Madison on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win.
Owen never let Madison on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 28-26, 25-20.
Draughn's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Owen, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Draughn beat Owen 3-1 when the teams last played back in August. The rematch might be a little tougher for Draughn since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
