Softball Recap: Lapel Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Lapel had won six straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 11-2 to make it seven. Everything went their way against the Knightstown Panthers as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Karlie Jannings was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Jannings was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Delaney Balser was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paige Stires, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lapel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knightstown only posted an OBP of .222.

As for Knightstown, they now have a losing record of 4-5. They haven't had much luck with Lapel recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

On Knightstown's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Fausnaugh, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Lapel wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-1 defeat against Hagerstown on the 28th. As for Knightstown, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-1 win against Cowan on the 25th.
