Basketball Game Preview: St. Timothy's vs. McDonogh Eagles

St. Timothy hasn't had much luck against McDonogh recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. St. Timothy's will venture away from home to challenge the McDonogh Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

St. Timothy's is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game two weeks ago. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Rosedale Christian Academy. One positive for St. Timothy's, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, McDonogh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 46-22 loss courtesy of St. Frances Academy. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

St. Timothy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for McDonogh, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

St. Timothy's was dealt a bruising 63-29 loss at the hands of McDonogh when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can St. Timothy's avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
