Destrehan is 9-1 against Central Lafourche since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Destrehan Wildcats will head out to take on the Central Lafourche Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Monday. Everything went Destrehan's way against St. James as Destrehan made off with an 11-1 win. Destrehan has beaten St. James the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest St. James has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Ava Burkett, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Victoria Morrow, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

While Central Lafourche didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Destrehan pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Central Lafourche, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Destrehan came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Lafourche when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Destrehan since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
