Baseball Game Preview: Plymouth North Eagles vs. Westwood Wolverines

The Plymouth North Eagles will square off against the Westwood Wolverines on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Three must be Plymouth North's lucky number: they beat Billerica Memorial with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Eagles didn't even let the Indians on the board, marking the Eagles' second-straight 3-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Westwood's hitters rose to the challenge against a Craftsmen pitching crew that boasted an average of only 4.05 runs allowed on Wednesday. The Wolverines blew past Bristol-Plymouth RVT 19-6. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Westwood pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Plymouth North, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.

Plymouth North came out on top in a nail-biter against Westwood when the teams last played back in June of 2015, sneaking past 9-7. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
