Volleyball Game Preview: Los Gatos Wildcats vs. Monta Vista Matadors

The Los Gatos Wildcats will face off against the Monta Vista Matadors at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Los Gatos was able to grind out a solid win over Harker, taking the game 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Los Gatos had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Monta Vista entered their tilt with Lynbrook on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Matadors have posted since April 5th.

Monta Vista took Lynbrook into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-17, 26-24, 26-28, 15-10.

Los Gatos pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Monta Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 22-11.

Los Gatos took their win against Monta Vista in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Matadors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
