Softball Game Preview: Logan Chieftains vs. Teays Valley Vikings

Logan hasn't had much luck against Teays Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Chieftains will head out to face off against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Logan will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Logan's victory against Groveport-Madison wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chieftains sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 win over the Cruisers on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Jocelyn Sarver (JCU), who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Hill, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Teays Valley got the win against Pickerington Central on Monday by a conclusive 19-8. Considering the Vikings have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan's record now sits at 10-3. As for Teays Valley, their record is now 10-4.

Logan came up short against Teays Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 3-0. Can the Chieftains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
