Volleyball Recap: Buffalo's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Buffalo had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Reeds Spring Wolves by a score of 3-1. The Bison have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

Buffalo walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-23, 19-25, 25-22.

Buffalo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carly Wentz-Smith, who had six aces. Wentz-Smith is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Buffalo was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Reeds Spring saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Cadle had six digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Cadle.

Buffalo's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 16-11-4. As for Reeds Spring, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-26-3 record this season.

Buffalo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Forsyth on the 16th. As for Reeds Spring, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Hollister on the 16th.
