Recap: Farmington Phoenix vs. Copper Hills Grizzlies

The Farmington Phoenix had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Copper Hills and snuck past 54-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Farmington also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Farmington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paul Beattie, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Beattie's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Braden Larsen, who scored 13 points.

Farmington's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Copper Hills, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Farmington will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Weber at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Copper Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Syracuse at 7:00 p.m. Syracuse knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Copper Hills likes a good challenge.
