Basketball Game Preview: Oasis Christian Lions vs. Lake Gibson Braves

The Oasis Christian Lions will face off against the Lake Gibson Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Oasis Christian blew past All Saints' Academy, posting a 37-1 win.

Oasis Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carly Shoultz led the charge by putting up 12 points. The dominant performance gave Shoultz a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raileigh Moates, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Gibson). They enjoyed a cozy 45-30 victory over Kathleen on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.

Lake Gibson's win came from a few key players Oasis Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Shania Benjamin, who had 16 points along with seven steals and five assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3 steals per game. Grace Hough was another key player, posting 11 points and four steals.

The win got Lake Gibson back to even at 2-2. As for Oasis Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
