Douglass can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Belle Plaine Dragons as the Douglass Bulldogs made off with an 18-3 victory. The win was just what Douglass needed coming off of a 12-2 defeat in their prior match.
Kennedy Bergsten made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Bergsten was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Douglass got a massive performance out of Gentry Bergsten, who scored four runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Braylie Knisely, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Douglass' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.2 runs per game. As for Belle Plaine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.
