Softball Recap: Howell's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Howell's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Dexter Dreadnaughts by a score of 7-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Highlanders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Zoey Overton was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Lara Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Howell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Howell's victory bumped their record up to 13-11-1. As for Dexter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howell will square off against Stevenson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dexter, they will take on Bedford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Kicking Mules' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Dreadnaughts' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
