Baseball Recap: Ukiah Gets the Win

Ukiah won the last time they faced Maria Carrillo and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcats came out on top against the Pumas by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

George Gibbs made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Beebe, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Davon Dockins, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Ukiah now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Maria Carrillo, they dropped their record down to 10-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ukiah will square off against Vintage at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maria Carrillo, they will face off against Piner at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Prospectors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
