Volleyball Recap: Eastern View Comes Up Short at Home Against Madison County

Eastern View unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Madison County Mountaineers on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

While Eastern View was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-23, 25-12.

Samantha Husch paced Eastern View's offense, picking up six kills. Husch got some help from Tatum Caparese and her nine assists. Husch was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern View will venture away from home to square off against Fauquier at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison County, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on East Rockingham at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
