Basketball Recap: Taylor Allderdice Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Markus Kuhn and Lukas Stead

Taylor Allderdice was the 65-45 winner over New Castle when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Taylor Allderdice Dragons fell 71-60 to the New Castle Hurricanes on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 18th).

Despite the loss, Taylor Allderdice had strong showings from Lukas Stead, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds, and Markus Kuhn, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five assists. Stead's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Schachter, who posted 14 points.

Taylor Allderdice has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for New Castle, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor Allderdice will take on Perry Traditional Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Taylor Allderdice is facing Perry Traditional Academy at the right time seeing as Perry Traditional Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for New Castle, they will challenge Seneca Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
