Volleyball Recap: Ava Takes a Loss

Ava was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Liberty Eagles. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Ava took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-22.

Liberty had a senior duo take command as Kinsey Shoup had ten digs and two aces and Jade Acklin had seven digs and two aces.

Ava's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-2. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.

Ava will challenge Mountain Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Southern Missouri RUSH on the 27th.
