Baseball Game Preview: Silver Slvr Ftg Colts vs. Chaparral Lobos

For the second straight game, Silver will face off against Chaparral. The Slvr Ftg Colts will be playing at home against the Lobos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Monday, Silver didn't have quite enough to beat Chaparral and fell 8-7. The Slvr Ftg Colts have struggled against the Lobos recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Danian Flores and Urijah Arrey were huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, Flores struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Arrey tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. At bat, Flores got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Arrey went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Silver is 3-1 when Arrey posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-13 otherwise.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Victor Roman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Silver's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Chaparral, they moved to 8-15 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
