Baseball Recap: St. Bernard's Central Catholic Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fitchburg on Monday, St. Bernard's Central Catholic came back down to earth. The Bernardians fell 7-3 to the Gardner Wildcats on Thursday. The Bernardians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2016.

St. Bernard's Central Catholic saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Quigley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

St. Bernard's Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Gardner, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Bernard's Central Catholic will square off against North at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bernardians are facing the Polar Bears at the right time seeing as the Polar Bears are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Gardner, they will challenge Murdock at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Blue Devils will have lost seven straight heading into Monday's contest.
