Volleyball Recap: Tokay Comes Up Short

Tokay lost against McNair back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tokay Tigers lost 3-0 to the McNair Eagles.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-16.

Despite the defeat, Tokay saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brian Desertic had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Desertic a new career-high.

Kaleb Cabanilla had an outrageously good game for McNair as he had 18 digs and three aces.

Tokay dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for McNair, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Tokay has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Bear Creek on the 5th. As for McNair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Merced on the 4th.
