Volleyball Recap: Carlmont Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Carlmont walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Los Altos Eagles 3-2. The Scots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles on Monday, too.

Carlmont had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 27-29, 25-14, 25-21, 15-11.

Carlmont found their leader in freshman Nicolai Liu, who had 16 digs and six assists. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Liu. Aeron Gurskis also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Carlmont pushed their record up to 23-15 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Los Altos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-8.

Looking ahead, Carlmont will head out on the road to face off against Menlo-Atherton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Altos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
