Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Cary-Grove). Their defense stepped up to hand the McHenry Warriors  a   6-0 shutout  on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Cary-Grove considering their one-goal performance the  matchup before.
Their offense was hitting McHenry from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.  Julia Valaitis led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.
Cary-Grove pushed their record up to 3-3-2 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored 12  goals over those three  contests. As for McHenry, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-5-3 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cary-Grove is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Jacobs  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, McHenry will  take on  rival Dundee-Crown  at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
