Baseball Recap: Cascade Christian Comes Up Short

The Cascade Christian Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat the North Mason Bulldogs on Monday and fell 11-10.

Noah Vigil was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Parker Turner and Major Rodarte did some serious damage despite the final result: Turner went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Rodarte went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that Rodarte has brought in this season. Ben Dewey was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs.

Cascade Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for North Mason, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Cascade Christian will head out to face off against Klahowya at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Mason, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bremerton at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
