Basketball Recap: Echols County Comes Up Short

Echols County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valwood Valiants. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-45 back in November of 2024.

Echols County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Valwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Echols County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Clinch County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clinch County will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Echols County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valwood, they will take on Terrell Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Valwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Terrell Academy likes a good challenge.
