Basketball Recap: Salisbury's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Salisbury had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 58-47 win over the Green City Gophers. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Green City lost, don't look at Jaryn Hatcher. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Hatcher is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lily Crist, who posted 11 points.

Salisbury has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Green City, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.

Salisbury and Green City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Salisbury will face off against Brookfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 247 places (143 vs. 390). Similarly, Green City (ranked 97th) will meet Meadville (ranked 258th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
