Baseball Recap: Bishop Kearney Comes Up Short

Bishop Kearney lost against Aquinas Institute last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Kings came up short against the Little Irish, falling 28-1. The game marked the Kings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Bishop Kearney saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Augustine Valentini, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Valentini has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Jackson Stevens also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop Kearney and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Aquinas Institute, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Bishop Kearney will take on Franklin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Aquinas Institute, they will square off against Canandaigua Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
