Fertile-Beltrami waltzed into their match on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 72-53 victory over the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunderbirds, too.

Fertile-Beltrami's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Mahnomen/Waubun, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fertile-Beltrami and East Grand Forks will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. East Grand Forks knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Fertile-Beltrami likes a good challenge. As for Mahnomen/Waubun, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds take on the Sacred Heart Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
