Basketball Game Preview: SA Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. LEE Volunteers

SA Roosevelt is on an eight-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, LEE a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The SA Roosevelt Rough Riders will welcome the LEE Volunteers at 5:30 p.m. Both are at an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but likely not for long.

On Tuesday, SA Roosevelt was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-43 to Johnson. While losing is never fun, the Rough Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Jaguars are ranked 84th).

Meanwhile, LEE lost to Brandeis at home by a 72-56 margin on Tuesday.

LEE's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for SA Roosevelt, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

SA Roosevelt and LEE were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but SA Roosevelt came up empty-handed after a 61-60 loss. Can SA Roosevelt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
