Baseball Recap: Bakersfield Has No Trouble Against Viola

Viola typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Bakersfield proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Longhorns. Considering the Lions have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bakersfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Viola, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.

Coming up, Bakersfield will face off against Thayer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Viola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
