Football Recap: Mason Huffman and Caleb Harper Lead the Defense for Mildred Win

After only six points in their last game, Mildred made sure to put some points up on the board against Cayuga on Friday. The Eagles enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over the Wildcats. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Mildred didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mason Huffman and Caleb Harper.

Cayuga's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Castaneda, who picked up 100 receiving yards and one TD.

Mildred's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Cayuga, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.

Coming up, Mildred will host Kerens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cayuga, they will head out to challenge Cross Roads at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.43 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
