Pacifica has gone 8-2 against Santa Paula recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Pacifica Tritons will challenge the Santa Paula Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pacifica has five straight wins, Santa Paula has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Pacifica beats Santa Paula with five runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Pacifica came out on top against Oxnard by a score of 5-0 on Friday.

Not much got past Ricky Garcia, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Oxnard off the board. The dominant performance also gave Garcia a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Devon Wilkes was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Riley Ortega, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Santa Paula's offense. They came up short against Ventura on Saturday, falling 6-0.

Pacifica's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Paula, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Pacifica came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Paula in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Does Pacifica have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Paula turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
