Baseball Game Preview: Hesperia Panthers vs. Manistee Mariners

The Hesperia Panthers will head out to square off against the Manistee Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Hesperia's offense. They came up short against North Muskegon on Friday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Norsemen: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Manistee came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Manton on Friday.

Braylen Zimmerman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Eli Workman was excellent, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Landin Sowa was another key player, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Manistee's record now sits at 10-14. As for Hesperia, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Hesperia might still be hurting after the 16-2 defeat they got from Manistee when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
