Recap: Prospect Ridge Academy Miners vs. D'Evelyn Jaguars
This season hasn't been kind to The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners, who are still winless after their eighth match. They were beaten by D'Evelyn 35-6 on Thursday. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Vincente Aguilera and Travis Agbosse, Prospect Ridge Academy certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Aguilera gained 102 total yards and a touchdown, while Agbosse picked up 45 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
D'Evelyn found their leader in underclassman Kevyn Feldon, who threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns.
Prospect Ridge Academy's defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-7 Bennett and 3-6 Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 40.5% over those games). As for D'Evelyn, their win bumped their record up to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prospect Ridge Academy will take on Platte Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Platte Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for D'Evelyn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Valley is ranked 173rd, while D'Evelyn is ranked 164th).
