With a playoff win on the line, Lake Travis rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cedar Ridge Raiders an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Lake Travis' sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-9-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Cedar Ridge, they moved to 21-9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lake Travis beat the Raiders by a score of 13-3 later that day.
