Red Jacket dropped their record down to 3-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Naples Big Green Machines. Red Jacket was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Naples apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Naples, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Naples' part, the team relied heavily on Rowan Biggs, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. The Big Green Machines are undefeated when Biggs posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-4 otherwise. Theron VanZandt also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Jacket will challenge Newark at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Naples, they will face off against Keshequa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
