Baseball Recap: Crete-Monee Takes a Loss

Crete-Monee easily dispatched Hubbard last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Crete-Monee fell just short of the Herscher Tigers by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered against the Tigers since March 19, 2016.

Bren Milburn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Anthony Monegan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Crete-Monee now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Herscher, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

When Crete-Monee and Herscher next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Crete-Monee will try to stop Evergreen Park's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Herscher will square off against St. Anne and their three-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
