Softball Recap: Lawrence North Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brownsburg, Lawrence North was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Pike Red Devils with a sharp 14-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Sydney Moss made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaida Wheat, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyauri Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Lawrence North pushed their record up to 8-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Pike, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Lawrence North has already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Mt. Vernon on the 14th. As for Pike, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 loss against Guerin Catholic on the 14th.
