Baseball Game Preview: St. Mary's Spartans vs. Holliston Panthers

St. Mary is on an 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Holliston is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Spartans will host the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The last four games St. Mary's has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While St. Mary's victory against Cardinal Spellman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cardinals 5-4.

Holliston let Dedham stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Thursday but luckily Holliston prevailed anyway. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Marauders 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now won four in a row.

Holliston let Ty Bosselman and Ben Maiorano run wild. Bosselman went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Maiorano went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Maiorano has posted since back in April. Arav Prajapati was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Holliston's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for St. Mary's, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
