Baseball Recap: Vanden Drops Highest Score of Season Against Sacramento

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vanden). They never let the Sacramento Dragons get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Vanden got a big performance out of Daevion Lindsay, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave Lindsay a new career-high. Gabriel Cruz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Vanden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Vanden's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-15. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sacramento, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.

Looking ahead, Vanden will welcome Sutter at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sacramento will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' game: after the Vikings face off against the Huskies, they'll take on Sacramento again at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
